Day 1, 2 and 3

My boat battery charger went out the night before we left on the trip, so we had no power to start the engine on the first day.  We did get it started with my spare battery and utilizing the engine decompression levers.  We left the dock at 4:30 AM and made it to Muskegon by about 4:30 PM.  The winds were 14 to 18 knots out of the WNW and the waves were 4 to 6 feet out of the North.  We sailed with the jib only and were making between 6.5 and 7.5 knots all the way.   This is a picture of our first sunrise of the trip.

The start of day two brought an unusual sunrise.  The trip to Ludington from Muskegon was a day with the light wind on our nose, so we motored all the way.  We got there by about 3:00 and enjoyed walking around the town.  I also was able to pick up a battery charger in town.

The crew sailing on a nice breeze from Ludington to Frankfort.

That's me checking out a steaming light in Frankfort that was not working.
